I offer several options for women who want prenatal care along with doula care.  These are comprehensive plans that can be helpful with having the best pregnancy possible. 

Birth Doula Package

My services cover the entire Des Moines area and surrounding suburbs.

Initial Meeting:

• Free consultation meeting

Prenatal:

• 2 prenatal visits
• Assistance with birth plan
• If you choose, I will attend one of your prenatal appointments
• Provide handouts and informational material
• Help with overview of labor and birth
• Lending library of books relating to childbirth and breastfeeding
• Phone/email access to discuss pregnancy progress and address any questions or concerns.

24 hour on-call availability:

• From your 38th week to your delivery
• Call when you think you are in labor
• Available at any hour to be with you once you are in labor

• Provide support in early labor
• Labor support in the home, hospital, or birthing center
• Suggestions for activities or positions to help labor progress
• Support for the woman's partner
• Give encouragement and reassurance
• Help for partner to be the best support to birthing mother
• Help with breathing and other relaxation techniques
• Massage for relaxation
• Act as an extra pair of hands for partner (such as getting food, get extra pillows, blankets, and much more)
• Supplying labor aids (such as music, hot/cold packs, massage tools, etc.)
• Provide information or explanation of medical and birth options during labor
• Work cooperatively with the health care team
• Take pictures or videos
• Help to make the environment fit the woman's comfort level
• Staying by the mother's side throughout the entire labor and delivery process

• Staying with the mother up to 2 hours after the birth to make sure she is comfortable
• Help with initial breastfeeding
• Take pictures or video
• 1 postpartum visit within 1 week after delivery
• List of any referrals as needed

Back-up Doula:

Even with a well-planned birth, sometimes unforeseen circumstances present itself that are beyond my control.  In the rare event that one of these occurs and I can not be present, I am happy to introduce Clorrisa as a back-up doula. 

I have decided to work with Clorrisa because I am confident in her ability to give you the much-needed support that is needed at your birth.  Below is a little about her:

Hi! My name is Clorrisa Brooks and I feel so honored to have the possibility of serving you during this incredible time in the life of your family! I know that your ultimate desire is to have Tammy by your sides on this special day, but if for some reason I am asked to step in, I will do my best to serve you and help create the atmosphere that helps you to achieve the birth experience your family desires!

My decision to become a doula comes directly from my passion to serve families and to help women achieve a positive birth experience. I believe that every family, every birth experience and every child is unique. Having 4 children of my own, I understand that we all have our expectations and dreams. Not often do we get 100% of what we desire, expect or even dream for, but what we are blessed with is worth our focus, worth our energy, worth the pain, and most certainly worth the wait!

Dave (my husband) and I have been married since 1995 and have 4 healthy children – Nic is 11, Kaelyn is 10, Anna is 7 and Ben is 6.

Other than being a wife, Mom and doula, some of my passions include… gardening, baking,  being outdoors with my children, reading a great book , cuddling with my  hubby and watching our favorite t.v. shows (it’s a cheap but fun date!) and ministering to families God places in my path.

Knowing the passion Tammy has as a doula and for each of her families, I am confident you will bask in a beautiful birth experience. I am so honored to work along side her and to have the opportunity to be her “back–up” for your family!
